,000 simultaneous users and up to 800,000 visits a day. and all this hard work that president obama was talking about, it's starting to pay off. in nova loan, roughly 100,000 people enrolled in obama care through the federal exchange. it's a four-fold increase from the month of october. when all the bad-mouthing was going on. all this cocky talk going on out there about how it was going to fail. oh, but we had one last play left, right? the obama administration said they expect the enrollment to jump dramatically in the coming months. meanwhile, the state exchanges, they're doing even better. how about california alone? 80,000 people in california. now, this is a dirty word. if you connect it to the democrats. private health plan enrollments, 80,000 in the state of california? that's right. and 135,000 have signed up for medicaid. el with, how about new york? in this state, over 250,000 people have completed applications for obama care. over 40,000 people have enrolled in a private plan. and in the state of kentucky, where we were visiting not long ago, now the number is up to over 56,000 peopl

at the age of 95. and just within the last half hour, president obama came out and talked about this world leader, this transformer, this human being, what he meant to america, what he meant to the world, what he meant to south africa, the impact he had and his legacy. >> we've lost one of the most influential, courageous, and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this earth. he no longer belongs to us. he belongs to the ages. >> guided by the hopes, not fears is also how the president described nelson mandela. said he drew inspiration from mandela. had a profound effect on his life. and i think you could see that in the statement that the president was giving tonight. nelson mandela passing away at the age of 95. i was also impressed by the comment of charlene hunter who told us we knew this was coming, but she still was shedding a tear tonight. the passing of someone of this tremendous world impact certainly is going to have a profound effect on many people. but she being close to the family even when it happens when you know it's going to happen, it has tha

't lose by much. talk about income inequality. push hard for obama care. let those personal stories come. and i guarantee you, some red states are going to flip. but it's going to take an investment to get it done. our next question comes from roosevelt barfield. why is the right wing bashing the pope? well, they didn't bash the pope until the pope started talking about income inequality. until he started talking about greed. until he started talking about the worshipping of money. and where the poor are in the world. and in this country. he started addressing all of those moral issues. and that, of course, was like a stick in your hand into a wasp's nest and all of the bugs come out after you. that's what has spurred all of this. this is a pope that is political. this is a pope that is willing to say things that other popes haven't said in contemporary time. and it strikes right at the heart of republican policies, and the conservatives, they just can't take it. stick around, "rapid response panel" next on "the ed show" after this. >>> i'm seema mody with your cnbc market wrap. stocks r

here in this particular hearing. >> really? this is nothing new. republicans talk impeachment every time they disagree with the president and his policies. libya, obama care, gun policy, you name it. the 113th congress, you know what they're going to do, go down as the least productive congress in modern history. the only thing republicans have done is try to repeal obama care over 40 times chs they haven't weren'ted an alternative, haven't worked to improve the law. just say no to everything. now they're wasting the american people's time, holding these hearings. president obama is right. republicans do owe it to the american people to be honest and tell us exactly what you are for. why are you against minimum wage? and everything else that's on the table when it comes to jobs? today the president spoke about income inequality and upward mobility. i thought it was one of the best economic perspective speeches he has ever given. this is what the obama administration is all about. this is what this president is about. this is, i think, why people voted for him. he cares about those w

to the republicans here. they have the country responding to and talking about the three things i've just pointed out when we have had 40, what, 5, 6 months of private sector oh job growth. when we have added 7 million jobs since president obama inherited the great recession. now that we've got unemployment down, according to the bureau of labor statistics, 7%, arguably, still in double digits. and they've got us believing that we're just not doing -- well, actually, we're doing too much for those who are in need. the president is talking about republicans like rand paul, from kentucky, who thinks he should run the world. and also rob portman of ohio, who is the doctor of silver spoons. what would you expect from bush's former budget director? on sunday, rand paul said he would have no problem cutting off unemployed americans. >> when you allow people to be on unemployment insurance for 99 weeks, you're causing them to become part of this perpetual unemployed group in our economy, and it really -- while it seems good, it actually it does a disservice to the people you're trying to help. i don't doubt
